Do you ever have those moments when you’re reading and the words on the page make you wonder how a thought can be stated so succinctly? You’re reading and suddenly you’re thinking “yes!”….or maybe you even shout that out loud. And everyone around you gives you a funny look. That’s what just happened to me.
The support and articulation of the major body systems and our early developmental patterning are the basic foundations of all our movement, ranging from everyday activities to the more skilled and complex movements of the dancer and athlete. We all focus on warming up before working out or dancing, and stretching before and/or after. What we really should be doing is supporting and caring for our bodies as whole beings all the time. Everyone will do this differently, and we just need to figure out what works best for us individually.
